What is the Trinity?

Although the word "triune" is not found in Scripture, the principle of the Trinity is clearly taught from Genesis to Revelation:

One God in Three Persons: While God's Hebrew name Elohim is plural, Scripture affirms monotheism—that God is one unified, unique Lord (Deuteronomy 6:4). He is revealed in three distinct, co-equal persons: God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ), and God the Holy Spirit.

Active in Creation and Redemption: All three persons participated in creation (Genesis 1:2, 2:7). Today, the Father calls us to Himself, Christ died for us while we were yet sinners (Romans 5:8), and the Holy Spirit convicts us of sin and seals us securely into the family of God (Ephesians 1:13).

How Does God Relate to Mankind?

Designed for Relationship: Unlike the rest of creation, which God spoke into existence, mankind was handmade from the dust of the ground, with God breathing life into us. We were uniquely designed in His image to enjoy an intimate, loving relationship with Him.

Restoring Broken Bonds: Humans naturally drift away from God, squeezing Him out of our lives with family, work, and hobbies, or turning to modern idols. Yet, God actively seeks to restore that relationship—pursuing us out of love and providing a way back through Jesus Christ.

What is our response to God's love?

Love God and Neighbor: Jesus summarized the greatest commandment as loving God with all our heart, soul, strength, and mind, and loving our neighbor as ourselves (Luke 10:27).

The Great Commission: As members of God's family and one divinely empowered body, we are commissioned to go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19-20).

Serving Others: True devotion to God is demonstrated by caring for the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the lost, vulnerable, and suffering, serving them as if serving Christ Himself (Matthew 25:34-40).
